Tree V LCD - LCD Information
The idea behind Sedex's new wooden surround TV called "Tree V" is simply one of a much needed environmental statement. The Tree V is an LCD TV manufactured with an environmentally friendly wooden surround.
SWEDX is the first company in the world to produce LCD-TV and computer peripherals embedded in natural solid wood.
The increased attention on the planet’s rapidly changing climate has put a renewed focus on the environment and businesses contribution to the problem. In the year of 2000 Swedx started the project of developing and manufacturing TFT-LCD monitors embedded in natural wood.
More important than the aesthetic advantages of all of your home entertainment and computer accessories, is the fact that they are encased in wood! an all-natural, renewable, sustainable, recyclable resource.
Available in three finishes (Ash, Beech or Sapele Wood), this stylish and unique design blends into your décor and is unique and environmentally friendly.
The increased attention on the planet’s rapidly changing climate has meant we are now more aware of how our behaviour and what we buy affects our environment. Read more: Swedx
How LCD works:
A network of hundreds of thousands of tiny LCD pixels sits behind the Tree V TV screen. When light hits the pixels an electric current decides the amount of light supplied into one of the three chambers – green, blue, and red. These beams of light decide how much colour appears on the LCD screen and the light variations make up the actual image displayed on the screen.
Benefits of an LCD TV
Saves space – LCD TVs are so compact they can be wall mounted almost anywhere in your home. A traditional 32" CRT has been replaced by a standard 40" LCD in an increasing number of households.
